Coach
I have a unique approach to vocal coaching. What’s different? I build accompaniment tracks for the songs my students work on giving me the ability to be completely focused on the singer. They leave with copies of the accompaniment tracks, both piano only and piano with their vocal line. I am not a voice teacher but have been studying voice my entire life and while working on interpretation and performance I will share techniques and tips I’ve picked up along the way to help you nail that note.
Repertoire Building
This is possibly my favorite thing to do. Being an old school music nerd, I love helping people find songs that are perfect for them and their needs. I have a vast library of music from operetta to pop/rock. Having sung everything from Bernstein to Bon Jovi throughout my career I bring a unique and personalized approach to finding repertoire. Additionally, I help find the best cuts possible, create a clean professional PDF of the sheet music, and make accompaniment tracks, both piano only and piano with their vocal line.
Acting

Working with Spotlight Theatre in New York City I developed a Show Based Musical Theater Scene Study Class that I would love to bring to your school or studio. The basis of this class is script analysis, beats and scoring scenes, and character development through scenes and songs of one show. Typically it was a six-week class meeting once a week, that structure is easily adjustable to meet your needs. It starts with a table read of the libretto, scenes and characters are assigned with each student’s skill set and growth in mind. Each student receives individual coaching on their songs outside of regular class time. I make accompaniment tracks of all the chosen songs, both piano only and piano with their vocal line. There is a final presentation where each student is responsible for writing narration in the style of the show to get us from one scene to the next. This class has been successful with Middle School Age, High School Age & Adult students. Classes have included titles such as Little Women and Into The Woods.
